Web18. jún 2024 · This the Granda Tooting, the only Grade I listed cinema from the 1930s in the UK, thanks in no small part to the grand exterior, but mainly the eye wateringly astonishing interior. Its origins lay in the London based businessman, Sidney Bernstein who inherited land from his father and started to develop the newly emerging cinemas. WebHi. I lived in Longley Road, Tooting opposite the bus station at the Tooting Junction end of Longley Road from 1950. We lived in a flat above Cussons grocery store until the site was bought and demolished by the council, for houses in the 1970's. As well as groceries they also had a meat counter.
