WebJohn Collier ( May 3, 1901 - April 6, 1980) was a British - born author and screenplay writer best known for his short stories, many of which appeared in " The New Yorker " from the 1930s to the 1950s. They were collected in a 1951 volume, " Fancies and Goodnights ", which is still in print. Green Thoughts is the second studio album by the Smithereens, released March 22, 1988 by Enigma/Capitol Records. The single, "Only a Memory", reached No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Album Rock Tracks chart in 1988.
